Eglington
to bike test at Press Launch in Calafat, Spain
Mike is off to do further testing of the Triumph 675 at
Calafat circuit, located south of Barcelona next
weekend. The Triumph testing will be part of a press
launch of the new Triumph Triple Challenge 675 and
Michelin Young Guns Championships, which are making
their debut this year.
The nature of the race series will allow riders to
display their skills on a level playing field. All bikes
will be evenly matched with strictly enforced
regulations to ensure that no rider can benefit from
performance enhancements that other riders may be unable
to afford. This is why it is imperative that Mike get to
grips with the bike before the first race of the season
in April; it will all come down to rider skill.
Eglington has longed to compete in a one-make series for
years and is hoping his 31 years of riding experience
will go some way to establishing him as a top contender
in the series.
This prestigious series not only hopes to attract some
of the most gifted young riders in the country, but also
and uniquely for a series of this kind, opens the door
to some exceptionally talented but more mature riders.

During the 3-day testing at Calafat, Eglington will also
be testing and setting up the Yamaha R6 that he and 2
other riders will be racing in the new HMRC National
Endurance Championship this year.
The Endurance Championship will consist of 6 6-8 hour
races. The Moores Racing team will consist of 3 riders
(Mike Eglington, Tony Jimenez and Jim Agombar), and
between 10-16 support crew at each race. Endurance
racing is all about bike preparation, stamina and above
all teamwork.
