"Racing is something that is inside of me. I feel like I was born to race, like it's something I'm supposed to do. When I had to stop racing in the 90s, I felt as if some part of me died inside. Being back in the saddle again and being competitive has brought me back to life again."

Practice - Saturday 1st July
The R6 was running well and minor suspension changes were all that was needed.

Race Day - Sunday 2nd July
Qualifying went well with the R6 in the top ten and on the pace.

Race Start
Mike made a good start on the R6 and was making good progress keeping 1st in class.

13:00 - Scheduled stops at the end of the first hour saw a rider change and fuel with Tony now out on the R6 and 3rd in class.

14:00 - We saw some brilliant riding from the old boy (Tony). Second pit stop saw the bike refuelled and new rear tyres for Nick.

15:00 - Nick put in consistent laps and was dicing for most of the session to keep the R6 3rd in class and got off the bike looking a tad tired! Mike went out his second session.

Many teams were suffering from the oppressive heat by this time, as could be seen from the state of some of the riders nearly collapsing at the end of their sessions.

15:50 - Mike indicated a problem with the rear tyre so we pulled him in early, changed both tyres and sent Tony out - excellent pit stop by the crew.

17:00 - Another good session for Tony with the pit stop just needing fuel to get Nick out for the final hour.

18:00 - Another great performance by the team. Unfortunately Nick was feeling the effects of the heat and in spite of all efforts, dropped to 4th in class at the last lap.

Many thanks to KRC and the Marshals
