"It was quite a spectacular launch. The bike was in the window for a week and attracted loads of attention. Hopefully it gave the book a much higher profile and improved the safety of bikes on the road."

Racing aid to safety booked

Motor Cycle News - March 21, 1990

In a first for bike sport, Her Majesty's Stationery Office are using a racer to promote a new bike safety book.

The Supersport 400 spec Suzuki RGV250 of 31-year-old South African Mike Eglington took pride of place at HMSO's London office in Holborn recently, alongside copies of the 52 page "How Safe is Your Motorcycle"

As part of an extensive promotion including a launch by the roads minister Robert Atkins and sponsorship from Norwich Union, Mike will also be selling the book at the race track.
